The trans-Pacific cable is made up of more than 5,500 miles of wires linking the U.S. (Oregon, specifically) to two ports in Japan, Chiba and Mie. The FASTER cable can provide up to 60 Terabits per second and will increase internet service to major Asian cities as well as some U.S. west coast metros like Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
